Cape Cables’ instrument cable permits maximum rejection against interference and provides cleanest possible signals for critical applications.
The conductors are constructed from stranded bare copper wire and have a short lay. This improves flexibility and termination reliability.
The crosslinked polyethylene primary insulation is rated at a temperature of 105°C providing excellent electrical and physical properties. The pairs are colour coded white/black, triads black/white/red. The black and white legs of pairs/trips are alpha/numerically marked with the pair/trip number.
The twisted pair/triad provides interference rejection, ease of circuit identification and ease of handling.
Each pair is individually screened with an aluminium/mylar tape screen, each screen with its own stranded tinned copper drain wire. This gives added protection against interference.
The overall aluminium/mylar tape screen with a stranded tinned copper drain wire for initial protection against interference ensures easy termination of the screen. The helically applied tape screen provides 100% coverage. Screen isolation is verified in all combinations during final factory testing.
The bedding is constructed of 85°C fire retardant PVC.
These cables have an unique aluminium co-polymer laminate bonded to the black polyethylene sheath which provides a complete hermetic seal and is resistant to most chemical and hydrocarbon corrosion and withstands abrasion, pulling in of the cable and is also UV resistant. For additional screening a tinned copper strand drain wire is fed in under the laminate layer. These cables are recommended for duct and tray applications. Coloured sheaths are available on request.
The ripcords make cable stripping easy without the danger of damage from a cutting tool.
All cables are rated 250V max from core to core.
